Born in China, Qianci had an early interest for classical music. She decided to pursue this path at a young age. Cello became her passion and she is still perfecting her method.

She received her undergraduate degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.  

After graduating, she became a cellist at the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra (2007-2011), and served as the principal cellist at the musical ”The Lion King” in Shanghai.

Later she attended The Master of Music program at Manhattan School of Music.

She has released the albums ”Xian Qin– Cello and Piano” in 2011, and ”DUET 1 — The Cellist at Shaoxing Road, Shanghai” in 2017, in collaboration with the producer Wei Luo.

She resides in the U.S.A and she is currently serving as the director of the New York Big Apple Music Festival and the Paulus Hook Music Foundation.
